Heat 2 of the Swords Educate Together National School's “Stars In Your Eyes” competition took place last Wednesday evening in Fingallians GAA club, Swords. A high standard had been set at heat 1 the previous week so the pressure was on for the heat 2 contestants! Vanessa Costa kicked off the show singing in Italian and was followed by the 11 acts competing for places in the grand final. Once again the talent was amazing and the audience were left with the difficult task of voting 6 of the 11 acts through.
While the votes were counted, MC Damien Douglas kept the crowd entertained with a few songs himself. Then came the raffle and one lucky audience member went home with a voucher for a luxurious ‘Grand Paradise Experience’ kindly donated by Pure Escape in Applewood.
Finally it was result time… the six lucky contestants this time were John Hall and Ann Kelly as Meat Loaf and Dianne Warren, Shauna O’Hanlon as Leona Lewis, Louise Cahill as Sara McLoughlin, John Hall as Bryan Adams, Ann Kelly as Tina Turner and Louise Meier as Beyonce.
These acts will join Mags McLoughlin as Lady GaGa, Dara Spencer as Christina Aguilera, Sarah Louise Connell as Kelly Clarkson, Andrea Santini as Boy George and Andrea, Denise, Sarah Louise and Karen as ABBA in the Grand Final to compete for the big prize of €500!! ( See photo on right )
The final takes place on Friday March 26th at 8pm in Fingallians GAA club and promises to be a super night with all of these talented acts as well as special interval acts from the teachers of SETNS, award winning hip hop group ‘Ghetto Fabulous’, Fingallians line dancing troupe and Gerard Kelly, principal SETNS.
T o top it all off the grand final raffle will certainly be something to get your teeth into with a super prize of a ‘PIG’ worth €250 in meat vouchers donated by Hannigan Butchers, Applewood.
